If you can use a conventional oven, then a halogen oven is a walk in the park! Cooking with a halogen oven is much easier and safer to use than a conventional oven. However, just like any other oven, you should know how to clean a halogen oven properly. This is to make sure that it continues to work optimally and for a longer time.

Cooking Frozen Chips Without Defrosting
Say goodbye to raw innards with the halogen lamp heater, which gives you evenly cooked oven chips.
- 250g Frozen Potato Chips
- Olive Oil
- Spread the chips evenly on the rack and put some olive oil to help brown them. You can use the high or low rack because the halogen oven fan creates optimal heat circulation.
- For 250g of frozen chips, set the timer to 15 minutes and the temperature to 180 degrees Celsius.
- If you are cooking a larger portion of oven chips, set the timer for 20 minutes at the same temperature. But make sure to toss the chips around in 10 minutes.
Roasted Beef Sirloin
Cooking beef can be a little tricky. If you want it to be cooked 100% evenly, try wrapping it in foil. For a more succulent beef sirloin, add some red wine 30 minutes before it is fully cooked.

- Take your beef out of the fridge and bring it to room temperature.
- Rub with salt, pepper and oil.
- Place your meat in a tray and put it on the low rack in your halogen oven.
- Add your extender ring if you have one.
- If you use foil, cover your beef and remove the foil 30 minutes before it is fully cooked.
- You do not need to preheat your halogen oven. Cook for 20 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius, then reduce the temperature to 180 degrees Celsius for the rest of the cooking time. If you would like it well done, add an extra 10 minutes.
- Cooking time is 20 minutes plus 20 minutes per 450g of beef.
- Use a meat thermometer to check whether it is cooked evenly.
- Once your beef is cooked, allow it to rest for 20 to 30 minutes, so it is juicy throughout.

- Defrost, but do not wash your Chicken.
- Remove the giblets and season well. Add stuffing if you would like to.
- Put your Chicken into your halogen oven upside down on the low rack. Use an extender ring to prevent the top from burning.
- Set the timer to 35-40 minutes and the temperature to 200 degrees Celsius.
- Turn your Chicken the right way up and check how much more cooking time it requires.
- Cook for another 20 to 25 minutes.
- If the juices are clear, it is a sign that the Chicken is completely cooked. If not, give more time to cook.
- Let the chicken rest for 20 minutes before serving.
Fried Cajun Fish Fillets
Try this delicious, flavorful fish dish that can easily be whipped up in your halogen oven.
- 900g fish fillets
- 380g cornflour
- Three whipped eggs
- 125ml milk
- 125ml beer
- 3 tbsp. mustard
- Tabasco sauce to taste
- 1tsp cayenne pepper
- Vegetable Oil Spray
- 2 tbsp. Salt
- 1 tbsp. white pepper
- 1 tbsp. black pepper
- Preheat halogen oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
- Mix all of the wet ingredients into a bowl.
- Cut the fish fillets into bite-size pieces and put them into the egg batter.
- Put this in the fridge to cool for 1 to 2 hours.
- Mix the rest of the salt and pepper with the cornflour and spread it on a large plate.
- Take the fish out of the egg batter and dip it into the plate of cornflour mix until coated well.
- Thoroughly spray the fish with vegetable oil and place it onto the low rack and mesh grill (if you have one).
- Cook until golden brown (approximately 8 to 9 minutes).
Perfectly Boiled Eggs
Boiling eggs sounds like a cup of tea, but your timing needs to be on point to get a perfectly boiled egg.
- Fresh eggs
- Preheat the halogen oven to 125 degrees Celsius.
- Put the low rack in and set the timer for 10 minutes. Let the oven heat for 2 minutes whilst you get your eggs ready.
- Place how many eggs you want to cook on the rack.
- After 8 minutes, your soft-boiled eggs are ready.
- For hard-boiled eggs, cook for an extra 2 minutes.

- Remove packaging and add extra cheese to your pizza.
- Put your pizza on the rack.
- Set oven temperature for 175 degrees Celsius or use the fan oven temperature on the box instructions.
- Set the timer to 14 or 17 minutes, depending on the thickness of your pizza (or follow instructions on the pizza box).
- Monitor your pizza whilst it’s cooking.

- 150g white sugar
- 75g brown sugar
- 230g softened butter
- 2 whisked large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 300g flour
- 1tsp baking soda
- One pinch salt
- 2 bars of broken chocolate or chocolate chips
- Mix the softened butter with the sugar and vanilla essence until light and fluffy.
- Add in the whisked eggs.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda and salt.
- Add the two mixtures together and blend well.
- Stir in the chocolate pieces/chips.
- Measure portions of the mixture with a large spoon and place them onto greased baking paper. Leave space between each cookie.
- Heat the oven at 160 degrees Celsius and bake for 10 minutes.
- Leave to cool on a rack before serving.
