Why I am super excited about January 2017

This is a new kind of post for me. When I began my Number Five Interiors adventures I would regularly tell you, my lovely readers what I had planned for the weekend but then as the winter weekends came in and the extension took over I got boring and ran out of things to do!

As a non believer in resolutions, and believe more in intentions and aspirations and thought a monthly round up of what I want to achieve in the month is a fab way to share with you lovely lot what I’m up to and keep me on track.

So here’s what is planned for January!

Get Blog Organised

In May 2016 I started up my little bit of the internet, and I feel we’ve come so far in such a short space of time, however I realise I have been an inconsistent blogger, which I know isn’t a good thing and I appreciate you still hanging round to read what I have to say! So this month I intend to be more consistent and post regularly on set days! I’m thinking a month view on the first of every month (or 2nd in the case of January – great start hey Jade but January 1st is National hangover day!!) plus weekly posts on Weds and Sunday. I really want to create some top notch content for you guys throughout the year and working to set goals will help me achieve some great posts for you all to read and get inspiration from!

Extension Plans Complete

After three months of extension work on the house it is almost completed! A few snags here and there, but that’s to be expected with a new build. For those three months, my kitchen has been a microwave and kettle in the lounge, and I am so excited that the kitchen cupboards will be delivered in early January! I can’t wait to start getting back to a routine, start making home cooked meals again and getting space in the rest of the house back. I’m starting to focus my efforts on the fun stuff now such as which colour paint to choose, which wallpaper to put in the downstairs loo and which tiles will go in the kitchen and in the hall. I can’t wait to share more with you soon!

Start Planning 2017’s Adventures

I have a big birthday coming up this year (the big 30 is approaching!) and I really want to make some amazing memories this year! We haven’t got any plans set in stone yet, but I love the research and inspiration part of booking a trip! I am going to say ‘yes’ more too and step out of my comfort zone. I don’t often attend blogger and PR events because I’m attending on my own and so nervous of standing in a corner with everyone knowing each other, but this year I’m going to let that go, say yes to events and I also really want to meet with some amazing talented bloggers I’ve met along the way so far!

Snap More

I’ve committed to going on more adventures, whether it is home or away, and I want to make sure I document some of these amazing memories so I’m going to use my camera more! I have a tendency to snap with my iPhone (not that there is anything wrong with that) but I have a fab little camera that I want to use and understand it’s functions more. I want to improve my photography skills and by taking it with me wherever I go will help, as the saying goes practice makes perfect! (photo below taken on my camera and i think the quality is so much better!)

Putting New Things in New Places

I was very fortunate and had lots of wonderful gifts for Christmas (mostly for the home and in particular the new rooms we’ve created as part of the extension) I’m can’t wait to start putting the new things into their new places and start creating (and snapping) more vignettes around Number Five, plus we all love a faff don’t we!!

P.S. I am also in this month’s Style at Home magazine as a contributor, sharing my thoughts on some wonderful home makeovers and home styling items! It’s kinda cool to see your face in a magazine, and hopefully this is a contribution of many, many more in the months to come!

I hope you have some wonderful plans and aspirations for January 2017! I would love to hear what you have planned!
